Dassault Systemes have announced the availability of a new version of Dymola. The key highlights of the Dymola 2016 FD01 release are:
Modelling and simulation
Support for the Scientific Data Format (SDF), using the portable HDF5 storage format, makes simulation results easy to process in other tools. Additionally, user-defined post-processing commands can be executed after simulation, facilitating customised processes for managing experiments and simulation data.
Functional Mockup Interface
Simplified and more flexible FMU import in Dymola supports both FMI 1.0 and 2.0 in the same model.
Tools to export and import FMUs into Simulink models increase the application of FMI. Support for both co-simulation and model exchange (FMI 1.0 & 2.0) maximizes interoperability.
Major Modelica library updates
New in Dymola, the Battery library enables modelling of battery cells and battery packs for automotive, industrial equipment and process applications.
The Human Comfort library which was introduced in Dymola 2016 has been extended with a CFD-based air model for even greater versatility.
Many of the existing libraries include significant enhancements such as improvements in the ground interaction models throughout the Vehicle Dynamics, VDLMotorsports and Simulator libraries and configurable plate heat exchangers and condensers with built-in receivers in the Heat Exchanger Library.
