Driverless Technology Conference – 22nd November 2016 – Milton Keynes

Claytex will be exhibiting and presenting at the DRIVERLESS TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE taking place in Milton Keynes.

The Driverless Technology Conference (DTC’16) concentrates on accelerating growth within driverless technology and maintaining the UK’s position at the forefront of industry development.

DTC’16 addresses the new business models and uses cases that are linked to driverless technology actively being pursued, researched and sold by major automakers and key disruptors in the market alike.

Meet with Claytex

On our stand, we will be showcasing how rFpro and Dymola can be used to support the development of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and autonomous cars. We will have a driving simulator that uses a Dymola vehicle model and rFpro demonstrating this capability.

Presentation – Stream A – 15:40

‘Virtual Testing of Autonomous Vehicles’

The development of autonomous vehicles requires exposing the vehicle to a wide range of potentially dangerous scenarios involving the vehicle, its occupants, other road users and pedestrians. One approach to minimise the risks involved is to use high fidelity vehicle models in an immersive virtual environment to fully test the systems. rFpro has been developed to provide an immersive Driver-in-the-Loop environment. The latest developments extend its capabilities to enable one or more autonomous vehicles to be tested in such an environment. To facilitate this, rFpro generates data feeds to stimulate the various vehicle sensors: cameras, LiDAR, Radar and Ultrasound all using the same high fidelity road data built from LiDAR scans.

In combination with simulation tools that provide a high fidelity, multi-domain representation of the vehicle behaviour, the complete vehicle and its control systems can be immersed into the environment. Pre-programmed traffic and pedestrians can be added into the simulation and multiple rFpro instances can be connected together to enable the interaction of autonomous vehicles with each other and human drivers.
