Dymola answers automotive industry’s demand for hybrid vehicles
Claytex is working with many of the industry’s leading vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and universities to deliver multi-domain simulation of Hybrid vehicles. It is more important than ever to consider all the vehicle systems when designing and optimising a low carbon vehicle. Claytex is helping simulate the complete vehicle system including physical components and control software drawing on the pre-built libraries available for Dymola to accelerate development programmes and drive down R&D costs. The range of libraries available for Dymola enables the complete vehicle model to be put together using model and subsystem templates that can be quickly reconfigured to study different vehicle architectures and reused for different types of analysis.

By coupling the Dymola model libraries together for Powertrain, Electric drives, Power electronics, Vehicle Dynamics, Air-Conditioning, Waste heat recovery, Hydraulics, Pneumatics and control we can create models that enable the complete system to be optimised. The optimisation of all these systems is driven primarily by the brand values that the automotive OEM has defined for this product and their brand in general. Increasing usage of common parts between OEM’s means that the calibration of the control systems are what differentiates the behaviour and performance of the vehicles to meet customer requirements.
